What a succesful Sunday. A few days ago I didn’t know about the event. I planned an easy run that day. Imagine how surprised I felt when my name was called for the 3rd place in my age group. On top of that I managed to run my personal best.
This was the premiere of The Triathlon Convention. For the whole weekend professional athlete or everyone who was interested in running, cycleling or swimming would have found the lastest technical gear, fashion and nutrition.
All was located in Langen town hall.
It wasn’t just a typical fair. In the swimming pool the latest wetsuits could have been tested and a 100m timed sprint was available for everyone being interested in getting their time before the triathlon season starts.
When I heard about the running challenge I chose the 10k because the 5k women run would have been to short and not suitable for my program leading up to the Marathon.
The start line was shared with 2014 IRONMAN world campion Sebastian Kienle who shared his training and nutrition tips in a talk afterwards.
LOCATION: Langen, Germany
Race time 10am with typical “London weather”.
My HR was high between 182-184 but my legs were strong. I enjoyed my company. We kept the same pace together and I endet up with a new PB 00:56:58.
Tired but happy I was looking forward to another week of training and the Frankfurt Half Marathon before travelling back to London.
